What Did You Expect ? / Pilotenkueche

We would like invite you to the final exhibit of the 33rd round!

The final show of our most recent residents from the UK, Canada, Israel, Korea, China, Slovakia, the US, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands, will present the work of nearly three months spent at the residency.

You approach one of the disintegrated dwellings on Franz-Flemming. You do this because you have heard there will be a night of performances; perhaps you have even visited before. You are led by candle light up two flights of stairs, and peer through a partially shattered opening. You glimpse a volleyball court, a pi(nk)nic, a cluster of reeking balloons, a fools fire, a suspect living room. What did you expect?

Through photography, found objects, painting, sculpture, and digital media, aesthetic and social boundaries are blurred. The 33rd round of artists is especially interested in the play of art, its capacity to contain, convey, or spur an experience. We are also pleased to incorporate the work of our local participants, Martin Schuster and Sébastien Kauffmann, as well as our guest artists, Willy Le Nalbaut and Ando Saori.
